I was referred to Capt. Hancock by a local Charleston tackle shop and could not have been more pleased with the day. Fishing with Cleve was like fishing with a friend. He is fun, natural, very easygoing, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the fishery. He got me into the perfect position for some great shots and got me into my first reds on the fly. Really a great experience overall and I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in fishing the area. If I return to Charleston someday I will absolutely book with him again.
On a company retreat we fished for two full days with Capt. Cleve. I could not give him a higher recommendation and it is an easy decision to fish with him again. He did a phenomenal job. Whether it was instructing a couple of our group who had little fishing experience, to putting us in great position to fly cast to cruising reds. I have been fortunate to fish with some really incredible guides and can say, without reservation, Capt. Cleve approaches guiding with a professionalism and plan rarely seen. He is a consummate professional, knows the water extremely well and beyond that is just a great human. Our biggest fish was a 31” red and our best day was 20 fish in the boat. He ties his own flies and can instruct you on proper presentation of the fly. Thank you, Cleve for being a big part of making our company retreat a great trip.
WOW…what a great trip last week with Capt Cleve!!! This guy is legit and extremely knowledgeable! We had tough conditions and a cold front that pushed in…and he still found me feeding fish. (Lots of them!!!)
I could not say enough on his knowledge of fly fishing. I’ve fished all over the world and with hundreds of guides, Capt Cleve ranks at the top!
I drove over 10 hours to fish with him and it was worth it!
My daughter and I fished two days with Captain Hancock and were very impressed. Despite approaching hurricane Nicole and winds of 20 to 30 knots we had dozens of shots at redfish both in the marsh grass and up the creeks. Captain Hancock knew his fishery exceptionally well, ran his skiff safely and provided top quality gear. Did I mention we caught fish? Yes we did! I highly recommend Captain Hancock and plan to make this a regular trip.
